On the way to Arles – on July, 6, 7 and 8, 2009 – during the Rencontres d'Arles "The Bus of Photography" will wait for you at Le Creusot station and take you to the House of Nicéphore Niépce in St-Loup-de-Varennes and then take you back to Le Creusot for the next train.

This historical journey to the origins of photography will allow you to discover the very place where photography was invented, where the "Point de vue du Gras" ("View from the window at le Gras") and "La table servie" ("The set table") were taken, and where Niépce and later Daguerre set up and developed the bases of photography. You will also be able to discover the world’s oldest photographic lab – recently rediscovered and added to the museum – which belonged to Joseph Fortuné Petiot-Groffier, a contemporay of Niépce’s.
For 20 Euros – return journey Le Creusot-St-Loup-de-Varennes, guided tour and lunch included – discover the place where photography was born!
